Honor has now been with me for a month and I am glad to say that her strangles is finally healing. her swelling is almost non existent and her huge holes are almost completely shut and just draining a little pus.

My main concern for Honor is her lack of weight gain which leads me to believe that she is either dealing with a worm load, sand, or ulcers. I do not want to overload this girl so will be working closely with my vet on the best way to approach her care. I am working on minimal funds so am thinking I may do a gofund account so I can give her the care she needs. She is the hardest rescue I have had to date so I am a little out of my element here so any advice would be welcomed at this point.

Here are some picture of Honor from today and 2 nights ago. As you can see she still has a lot of weight to gain Here is a list of what she is eating every day.

Free range local hay
6 lbs of Alfalfa
3 lbs soaked alfalfa cubes
1 lb soaked beat pulp
2 lbs stabilized rice bran
5 lbs purina senior
3 lbs haystack special blend
I have given her Probios and electrolytes. she has a mineral salt block

On a side note, Shandy went home today Smile we were giving her a bath before she left and discovered that she has developed a sizable bag so her new mama is going to have her checked to see if she has a baby coming   Very Happy

She has been under such a great stress being at the feedlot then this horrid infection. Now  that that she is calmer and her body is starting to recover from the illness, she will probably pick up weight again, quickly.
