Info: 12 yr old, 15h, buckskin QH type mare. This mare is hurt but travels sound so we decided to ride her even though people might be critical. Had she not been sound we would have listed her and not have ridden her. After the assessment the mare's leg was attended to and will be treated as often as possible. She is a stunning very smart mare that wants a person of her own. She will need a refresher course so she is not suitable for a beginner but whoever decides to make her their project will be happy with this mare. She is big bodied, athletic and a buckskin!!!
Assessments are offered as a courtesy only. Pre-purchase Vet Checks/Professional assessments can be arranged at the interested buyer's expense. There is no mandatory quarantine upon purchase, though it is highly recommended once the animal leaves the Feedlot. Additional pictures and Videos, if available, can be found on the Bulletin Board
List Date: 12-02-2013

Purchase Contact Information:

Samantha, (509) 952-3866

Poor Savannah was injured in the trailer then left with an untreated wound on the feedlot. When Sam first saw her at  the assessment, the pipes at the lot were frozen solid and she couldn't hose it down, but she did her best to clean and medicate the injury. After a few days of running back and forth, struggling to keep the wound clean without water, she decided to take Savannah 'home' where she could be better able to care for her. The FLO granted his permission to remove his property to another place...And so begins Savannah's journey toward healing.

Hi All - I feel like my updates are like emotional roller coasters : -) the GREAT news - going up : -) - Savy is doing way better. Vet saw her yesterday and said keep doing what you are doing because the wound looks great (he had seen the photos at the feedlot on FaceBook). All the proud flesh has been removed and the healing should be rapid from this point on. Can't wait for the before and after shots when the wound is all healed!

the not so great news - going down : -( Savy sustained another injury in a place that will not hold stitches (before and after photos to come in a few weeks) but the wound is superficial and the vet said keep doing what you are doing.

the GREAT news - going up : -) spoke with the FLO told him about the new wound and how bad the old wound is and that she will need time to heal in order to find a home. I said that he would have to wait to get his money and he begrudgingly said okay - looks like we get at least a few months.

More GREAT news - going up more : -) Savy is a nice horse but needs to be worked with a bit. She needs a lot of desensitizing (even though she is light in the halter) she still needs ground work, respecting personal space, patience…… being doctored everyday will accomplish that.
