Info: 5 yr old, 15.2h apply gelding. This is a very friendly, handsome, sound horse - sadly, whenever a horse this good looking is sold to slaughter there usually are issues. Well he has some but nothing that can not be fixed - first - he is very difficult to bridle - acts like he has had his ear twitched and now is poll - ear shy. He acted spoiled on the ground and willful to do what he wants. For example in the round pen he wanted to push the gate open and always turned his rear to Kara. He did not kick but putting his butt in her face to a sign of total disrespect. Because he appears to have been spoiled he is stuck on his way more so then a green horse. He is young so the issues are fixable but it will require an experienced handler. Those basically are the issues we witnessed. The rest of the assessment - once the bridle was on he gummed the bit like he has not worn one too often. He is pushy on the ground and when saddled did not buck but acted like he might when cinched. Because of the bridle issue, not respecting space and not that familiar with saddling we are representing him as not started. If he has been started it was a poor job and he will need to be restarted. Now the great aspects about this gelding - his stunning to look at, young, sound with great conformation. If you are wanting a fancy project here is your huckleberry. He will require a confident owner that does not mind lots of repetition to teach him it is our way not his here is great project.
. Assessments are offered as a courtesy only. Pre-purchase Vet Checks/Professional assessments can be arranged at the interested buyer's expense. There is no mandatory quarantine upon purchase, though it is highly recommended once the animal leaves the Feedlot. Links to videos, if available can be seen on the Bulletin board
