Slaughterhouse Orphans    $150 Each
One month foals - filly and colts - These foals do not  belong to  our usual FLO and are in the Temporary care of Wayne. Their mothers were shipped the other day and are most likely either in Nevada or on their to Mexico. These foals were pulled off their mothers so that they would not be crushed and are one month to one month and half. They are obviously too young to ship to slaughter but their owner will reclaim them and turn them out for a year or two and ship them to Mexico when they are big enough .

There are 6 of them - they are not tame but eating grain and hay well. We have till the next truck which I am told is Monday. No calls to Wayne he has been harassed and does not want to be bothered. All interest needs to go through us.

I think my heart is breaking.  I can just about hear their mothers whinnying to their babies as they were put on the truck.  Is this a common practice?  If so, do the sponsors of the bill to ban slaughter know about it?  It could add some fuel to their cause.   Crying or Very sad

Not to mention that the lactating mares are likely in pretty intense pain right now.  I don't say this often, so you know I really mean it.  I am incredibly pissed right now.
