Yup...in QT pending pick-up means they are safe...Our QT is not mandatory, but we do offer a sort of a 'staging QT' for short term-use, as a convenience to the buyer and at their request. The optimum plan is for people to go to the lot, pay the Feedlot Owner for the horse then collect their new Baby at that time. But when they can't arrange for transport immediately, our QT will get the horse off the lot and keep them safe til arrangements can be made.

Please don't be upset at me but I have another question. I've been looking at a auction in NJ the "camelot feedlot" which is also a holding place for horses before shipping to slaughter and alot of there horses go for less then $300. Why are these horses priced higher on this feedlot? What is the price per pound for a horse?....Still trying to come up with a way to save  this guy....Thanks for all your info and for what you are trying to do here....Thank you Thank you

Not upset at all, truly...Sometimes we forget to 'explain'  these things and it leads to confusion. So an occasional reminder to start at the beginning is great for all of us...The Meat price is basically determined by the Slaughter house and different slaughterhouses have different pay scales...The Guys in Mexico, for the most part are the lowest paying bunch and up until very recently, would accept anything for slaughter. The mid-range bunch ( folks like Cavelle in Canada) pay a little bit more and have 'some' requirements in place for the condition of the horses sent to them...Chuck Walker holds a contract with Bovery Int. which is only accepting ( at least the last I heard)  #1, Fats. These are the healthiest and sturdiest of the horses and the price for these is the highest paid...I'm sorry I can't tell you the actual price per pound being paid at the moment, it fluctuates (again, just as I've heard it)..And everything has changed drastically since the EU plan for Horse Slaughter went into effect - Everything changed last November....I should say ,here, that on the occasion when a horse is found to be unsuitable for shipping to Canada, the FLO ships them to a holding pen in Idaho for transport to Mexico. This doesn't happen very often, but it does happen.
The bottom line is always the same. The fella that actually owns the horses, sets the prices and those prices are determined by more than one factor. We just advertise the prices given to us and pray that someone will want one of these beauties.
