What a terrible shame, she is so beautiful.
I wonder if she was just a broodie and never ridden until she arrived there?
This is the reason we only use professional riders for our assessments. As heartbreaking as it is to un-list a Horse, it would be worse to have someone buy it and be hurt.

Agreed. Plus the liability issues could be huge. It is wise, but sad that she did this. Was not blaming you guys at all. Some of them just are not saddle horse material.

It is a shame the owners did not market these horses properly themselves; they could have found suitable homes and not been at risk for the canner.

There is a use out there for Denim, but not this way, she has  no hope now.

She seems fine on the ground, appears to be kind, and would probably make a nice emotional therapy animal. They don't ride them in that kind of therapy, so just about any horse will work there, so long as they are not biters or kickers. www.eagala.org explains more.

Her owners could have donated her to a program and taken a tax donation that would have been more than what the FLO paid, I am sure.

Just sad.

Denim is getting a second chance.
She is going through two weeks QT then two weeks with a trainer to see if she is just green or dangerous.

I can't stress this enough...The Rebels did not 'Save' this horse...When she tried to flip on her rider we considered her unfit for our 'Straight Sales' policies and 'Un-listed her'. She was purchased by a Rescue, on a special contract, directly from the FLO with the agreement that she would be sent  to a professional trainer who would evaluate her. The best we can do is to Assess the horses honestly and tell the truth in all matters. The Rescue Purchased Denim knowing she was deemed dangerous, and we wish them Great Luck in thier efforts.

One of the things about rescue is knowing when to hold them and when to fold them.

Good luck to Denim and the Rescue.  No doubt Rebels made a good decision, given the number of novice and backyard riders who follow the site.  But if the Rescue is able to make it work for Denim, more power to them!!!
