Hi, I'm Marla....

I met Sam about a month ago when I adopted Kate (Paso Fino), Faith and her colt (now known as Moonshine -- aka: Monkeybutt!) and then went back and got an 18 month old filly (we call her Lucy Anne) that is presently dealing with strangles.

We loved Chase but couldn't take them all.  I also had a soft spot for Hunny and Satin.  When we were there, my very experienced friend Delcie, believed that Hunny was bred (lopsided belly and pretty fat).  I came home and started talking to co-workers and as it turns out, my boss (whose last name is Morgan), and her neighbor are going together to get Hunny and Chase (the Morgan! LOL).  Sam picked up Hunny and is holding her at her farm.  She said Hunny is even more huge than she was when we were there (hmmm....???).  Maybe it will be a 3 for 2 deal -- we'll wait to be surprised, or not.  Anyway, it looks like we'll pick them both up Thursday, 9/23.  They'll have a long day of travel to their new home in NW Washington.

By the way,  can anyone tell me more about Faith and her colt?

Sam suggested I post these questions:
Does anyone know when the colt was born and was it on the feedlot?  How long have they been at the feedlot?
Do we need to worry about them getting strangles or were they there long enough to have already had it?
Were there any opportunities for Faith to have been bred after foaling? (She's starting to look pregnant & act a bit like it too)

Faith has also been fighting an upper respiratory thing since about the 3rd day after bringing them home.  Colt (Moonshine) has it a little too.  (No, I didn't name him after the booze!  It was the dark of night when I got to see him and Faith on the feedlot and the moon was shining brightly on his flaxen legs, mane and tail.  At that moment, he got his name --  Moonshine   Very Happy )

We are still quarentining them and being careful about not taking bugs to our other horses.  It will be nice when we are able to co-mingle them and not worry about it.

Thanks!
Marla

Thank you Marla for all that you have done and continue to do for these horses!

All that we "know" about Faith is posted on her thread, under "Safe".  The rest is just guesswork.

Wow, Marla.  Congratualtions on your new horses and thank you for all you have done to get them off the lot!  I hope everyone is happy and healthy very soon, and that you all enjoy many wonderful years together.
